benign enlargement of the prostate than affects half of all men over age 60
bladder
the bag in the lower abdomen where urine is stored.

a tube inserted through the urethra in order to drain urine from the bladder
continuous incontinence
urine leaks more or less constantly with no urge to urinate

a coiled tube attached to the back of each testis where sperm mature
follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
a hormone released by the pituitary gland in the brain; it stimulates sperm production in the testicles

the urinary tract is functioning normally, but a person has a disability that prevents him from reaching the toilet in time to urinate

an x-ray of the urinary tract
lutenizing hormone (LH)
a pituitary hormone which stimulates testosterone production

a clog or blockage that prevents liquid from flowing easily.

occurs when an overfilled bladder leaks urine
prostate
a walnut sized gland that makes the fluid that composes semen
scrotum
the sac of skin that contains the testes
semen
the fluid that contains sperm
stress incontinence
leakage of urine during physical movement, such as coughing, sneezing, bending, or exercising

the male reproductive glands where sperm are produced
testosterone
the male hormone that is necessary for sperm production and development, male physical characteristics, and sex drive

A type of test in which images are produced by directing sound waves at a structure.
urethra
the tube that urine passes through as it leaves the body
urge incontinence
a strong urge to urinate, but the urine cannot be held back
urinary tract
the path that urine takes as it leaves the body; it includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra

discharge of liquid waste from the body.

the branch of medicine dealing with the urinary system and its diseases
urologist
a medical specialist who deals with the organs concerned with the elimination of urine, the male reproductive organs, and the prostate
vas deferens (vas)
a tube that transports sperm from the epididymis to the seminal vesicles
vasectomy
a surgical means of birth control which interrupts the process of sperm transport at the vas deferens.
vasectomy reversal
the surgical reattachment of the vas deferens
vasoepididymostomy
a method of vasectomy reversal in which the vas is surgically reattatched to the epididymis
varicocele
a vericose vein in the scrotum which can cause progressive damage to the sperm production
